29 - Envy

28 - Envy, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
George got a new computer, and I am a bit envious! Good name for it. He is letting me use it to process all these photos, and I am thankful because my trusty 3+ year old computer has no memory left!

28 - Apples to Apples

Celebrated Michael's birthday with a few friends and games, cake, and ice cream.

27 - Layer of Cloud from Hospital Hill

I have been sick all week, and this was my first walk in a long while. It was a lovely day. I experimented with different settings to get the layer of clouds just right. The auto setting just washed it out. Learning.

Sick all day so not a lot of photo ops.

24 - The Colors of a Birthday Dessert

Michael turned 19 today. We took him out for pizza and Yogurt Extreme. His weighed the most at 13.5 oz! (almost twice as much as mine)!

23 - Meditation 21st Century Style

I stayed home from church today and soaked in Psalm 1 using my Logos Bible Software to do Hebrew word studies. Then, I wrote a Bible Book Club post. It was a very restful day after a busy weekend.

22 - George at 72 Years Young

In the background, holding the world up. A radical man with a radical message. :)

20 - Making Challah

19 - Books and Flowers

Every other Wednesday since 2002, we have delivered books and flowers to people who can't get to the library.

18 - Learning About the Brain

Nathan comes over every Tuesday, and he and Paul watch The Teaching Company's Understanding the Human Body: An Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology taught by Professor Anthony A. Good man, MD. of Montana State University.

17 - Sunset On McFadden Marsh

On the way home from the Eugene Airport, we stopped at Finley Wildlife Refuge.  It is good to be back in Oregon. Those are Canada Geese flying overhead.

13 - February 2, 1968, Day 3 of the Tet Offensive, Vietnam

George's dad was one of the surgeons during the Tet Offensive, and this is his journal during non-stop surgeries. He was working on transcribing the journal into his computer while I was working on a memory page about my parents in my photo book. We were both lost in time, long ago. It was sweet.

12 - Jeff Bridges Through the Glass Art

This documentary about Jeff Bridges on American Masters on PBS was excellent. I caught the end of it and hope to see it re-aired. I thought this was interesting of him through the glass doing art.

11 - The Calamitous 14th Century

I have been working on my photo book all day. I downloaded this audiobook from the Oregon Digital Library Consortiums Library2Go
check out. Many of my books from The Well-Educated Mind are on there, and it helps me reach my goal
AND do other things at the same time. Eleven books and 79 pages to go!!

10 - Project Complete at 4 a.m.

Don't you love the crazed look on my face! I had already gone too far down the Creative Memories Storybook Creator 3 route for the first half of my 2007 pictures to stop. So, I went ahead and finished it. I like the finished product. I will really like the sleep now that this grueling project is over.

Note the late night banana peel. LOL!

9 - A Kurdish Sandwich

Yesterday was a birthday party for Teala and tonight was a surprise going away party for our dear Sinor (right). She is returning to Kurdistan after two year completing her Masters in Public Health. Her friend on the left arrived here 10 days ago. So, it was also a welcoming party! We will miss Sinor so much!

P.S. I never realize how tall I am until I stand next to other people!

8 - Celebrating Teala and 32 Years of Friendship

She turned 52 on December 29, but some of her dearest friends gathered to celebrate her birth more than a week later. We said what we appreciate about her: able to make a difficult situation more bearable, faithful, great story teller (what she is doing right now), fun, and funny. She is telling one of her funny stories, and we laughed to tears and got dirty looks from the older couple doing crossword puzzles at Sam's Station.

5 - Eleventh Hour Memory Making

Been working on this all day. Big job but fun to review my first Project365.
I'm doing July - December on Picaboo which is my preferred photobook software after  using
the more laborious (and expensive) Creative Memories Storybook Creator for the first half of the year. .

4 - Food Face

I made Jessica Seinfeld Pesto Costini for Christmas and New Year's Eves and had some leftovers. I only had two baguette slices left, but a bagel made an interesting face! :)

Here is the recipe but get CILIEGINE and not the mozarella bocconcini she recommends!

3 - After 2.5 Hours of Sleep

3 - After 2.5 Hours of Sleep, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.

Two cups of chai tea at Nirvana was too much. I was up all night and didn't fall asleep until noon the next day. Took a shower and ready for guests on Tuesday night.

1 - Glen Eden New Year Walk

We are hoping to do more of these this year. It is a good time to catch up and get exercise together.
