Via Flickr:
What a beautiful hospital in architecture and art! We went to visit George's Aunt Dot who punctured her lung when she fell over while helping Uncle Earl.

363 - Back to Regular Tea Cups and Pots

Via Flickr:
I love all my Christmas cups and my two special (one new) Christmas pots, but it is fun to get back to my grandmother Wardie's special cups!

362 - The Messiah Doesn't Stop at Christmas

Via Flickr:
I looked EVERYWHERE for my Messiah song book that I purchased last Christmas but never got around to going through. I wanted to go through it this year as I listened to the audiobook: Handel's Messiah: Comfort for God's People, but I couldn't find it! Wouldn't you know that the day AFTER Christmas, when I was going to get my equipment for working on my photo albums, that I would find it in the closet I checked at least five time while looking for it three weeks before! Well, no matter, I just went through my favorite CD again!

I spent much of today working on this. It is so much easier to work on it with this new computer. Last year, my computer memory issues made it a very slow task!

360 - Jesse Tree

Via Flickr:
My friend asked me "What's a Jesse Tree"? a couple of weeks ago, and I realized I had never taken a picture of the full completed tree. For a full explanation of the Jesse tree. See my Gospel Harmony Book Club explanation here: www.gospelharmonybookclub.blogspot.com/2011/12/3-record-o...

By the way, the young girls in yesterday's picture made this tree for us back in 1997!

359 - Lisa, Heba, and Kellie at Christmas

Via Flickr:
I could not decide on the best "Picture of the Day" for such a glorious day. It could have been one of our Advent Wreath piercing the darkness of the early Christmas morning or the rainbow that we followed all the way to Newberg. I sent my narrowed down choices to George and had him break the deadlock. This is what he wrote:

"I like the one of Heba and the nieces best because my Dad is in the picture! Plus they all three look so adorable together."

I had to agree. I hadn't even notice the picture of George's dear departed dad.

Samira came again this year for our "Red and Green" Christmas Eve dinner (homemade lasagna and French rolls. I tried the spinach, pomegranate, walnut, blueberry salad from the tea time too).

We talked late into the evening. Such a delight. She is moving to the Bay Area for a few months, and I will miss her SO much!

We went to Berina and Joel Tuttle's wedding.

In picture:
Fatimah (left) was a bridesmaid.
Jean (behind me) is a dear friend from college.
Heba (right) is my sweet friend from Jordan.

It was a delightful evening with dinner three hours before the ceremony. There was a LOT of time for talking at this wedding.

356 - Christmas High Tea with Michelle D.

Via Flickr:
Last year, I took Michelle to a Christmas tea in Albany. She is moving back to California, and I asked if she would grace me with her presence one last time by joining me in another Christmas tea at Lisa's in Philomath. I had never been to their tea, and I think it is my favorite of the Lebanon, Albany, Philomath, and Portland Christmas teas I have partaken of over the last few years.

Michelle and I talked for three hours! I am really going to miss her!

The tea also included: Peppermint Ice Cream (for a starter), Spinach, pomegranate, walnut, blueberry salad with a raspberry viniagrette dressing, Butternut squash soup, and four different kinds of sweets after the course above! I have pictures of all of that too. :)

355 - Shellac and Won't Go Back

Via Flickr:
Julie Bogart told me she won't do any other kind of manicure. I decided to do sparkly Christmas one this year, and I can't believe how wonderful shellac is! You don't have to worry about it getting ruined before you leave the shop, and I am typing this text a week since I took this picture, and there isn't a CHIP! So worth the extra $10!

Via Flickr:
Worked on a new Bible Book Club project today. I went through the two big books in the early 80's. They are a chronological look at the four gospels. I will give people the option of going through each gospel individually or in "harmony" at gospelharmonybookclub.blogspot.com/

353 - Linn Benton Food Share Joy

It is our fifth or sixth year doing this. :) It was an exceptionally pleasant group this year, but we missed doing it with the Staubers!

George and I went to this 20 years ago when I was pregnant with Michael (and God had told us both that morning in our separate quiet times they he was a boy!). It was so great to get to see it with the kids for the first time.

We also got to see Eugene's "Occupy" Camp on the way there.

I had to take a silly picture of the Gingerbread Village chaos. We tried villages this year instead of a big house. It was fun! I think it is our sixth year doing this with the Kinkades.

Michael had two empty spaces in his mouth due to the surgery. So, Dr. Haslam worked during his lunch hour in order to try putting something in the retainer to resemble teeth.

We have known since Michael was 11 years old that this day would come. He has 12 permanent teeth missing from his mouth, and this is the first of many procedures that he will have over the next three years. We are thinking this will be the only implant though.

He was in surgery 38 minutes, and Dr. Hopkin didn't even need to make an incision, but pulled a tooth and put the implant there. YAY!

I love our Elders' wives, and I wanted to bless these women who give so much to our church with a tea where they could just come and relax, visit, and pray. It brings tears to my eyes that they were able to do this. YAY! :)

I had so much fun preparing!

This is the fruit of George's Day of fishing. I like the result.

My Facebook post for that day read:

What possesses George Weaver to go fishing all day in the rain?
November 21 at 8:24am near Corvallis

Here were some responses:

Jens Bernhard
that's what men have to do, so far he did attempt to climb 5 of the highest Cascade mountains in one weekend, I guess...
November 21 at 8:28am

David Lilley
Only a man of great and strong character would do this -
Rain is a small adversity compared to the fish! You are blessed to have such a man...

Thelma Lyche English
Fish?

Carol Ann Weaver
Thelma, you are so wise.
November 21 at 12:06pm

Becky Hiller
I have heard the fish bite better in the rain, right?
November 21 at 1:14pm

Carol Ann Weaver

Actually, I think that is true, Becky. Sunny days are not as good? I can't remember. I used to fish more before kids. I could probably go back to it, but inside with a book verses outside in the rain is a no brainer for me. :)
