119 - Royal Kiss

119 - Royal Kiss, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
Spent 1:00 am - 7:45 am watching the royal festivities. Then I came back from a run to watch more follow up commentary from 9 - 11 am. It was a fun morning!

118 - In Bed at 4 p.m.

118 - In Bed at 4 p.m., originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
Met with Jane from 10:30 - 12:15, worked out from 12:30 - 2:15, and met with Denise from 2:30 - 4:00 pm. Then, I got in bed so I could be up for the 1 a.m. start of my Royal Wedding Night Watch! Only problem was I FORGOT to go to Kim's surprise party on Thursday night because I was sleeping. UGH!

117 - Timberhill Place Book Deliveries

All our Dial-a-Book deliveries are conveniently located in one place now. This is a reflection of us in the TImberhill Place Assisted Living window with our flowers and books in tow!

116 - Margherita Pizza

116 - Margherita Pizza, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
I just learned why it is called Margherita Pizza:

Pizza Margherita is a pizza prepared according to a recipe of the Italian chef Raffaelle Esposito. The pizza was first made in 1899 when Queen Marghereta visited Napels to escape a cholera epidemic in the north of Italy. The ingredients used to make a Margherita pizza, tomatos, mozzarella cheese and basil, imitate the colors of the Italian flag. Queen Margherata liked the pizza so much that she wrote a thank you letter to Esposito, who decided to name the pizza after the Queen.

115 - The Day After

We had a full Easter day, and the candles burned as the conversation thrived.

114 - A Perfect Easter

114 - A Perfect Easter, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
We had wonderful international guests for our impromptu Easter meal of Salmon, Indian Lentil Stew, Indian Aloo Ghobi (cauliflower and potato dish), fruits, veggies, hummus, and ice cream! It was a great day. Afterward, Dave, Shelly, George, and I delivered Hot Cross Buns to many friends. And Dave and Shelly even got to eat Thai Durian for the first time! Then, we came home to eat again and watch The Amazing Race and Celebrity Apprentice. What a fun day!

113 - Good-bye Egg Coloring

113 - Good-bye Egg Coloring, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
The boys said they didn't want to color eggs this year which is probably appropriate since they are 16 and 19 years old! In addition to this, they didn't want us to hide the stuff for their baskets, but they said, "We still want the candy." LOL! It is the end of an era, but Easter isn't about coloring eggs and searching for Easter candy anyway, but I thought I would document the end of this era with the tacky plastic tablecloth we have used for many of our egg coloring years.

112 - 22 Years on the 22nd, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
Twenty-two years ago today, George Weaver asked me to be his girlfriend (opening day of fishing season, April 22, 1989). I surprised him by taking him out to Pastini's (he thought we were having a meeting with Kathleen), giving him a card that spelled his destiny name (trustworthy), and taking him to the river for sparkling cider and a toast! :) It was a "Good Friday" in more ways than one!

111 - Oregon Book Award Nominee, Lisa Ohlen Harris

It is Lisa's first book, and she was nominated for the Oregon Book Award! She did a reading at the Corvallis Library, and we had to go and cheer her on! Go Lisa! We will be able to say, "I knew her when . . ." someday!

110 - And He Still Loves Me

110 - And He Still Loves Me, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
We go to Rachel's as a family for haircuts, and it was a "color" day for me. I am not very attractive through the process, but George wasn't too embarrassed to pose with me for a picture of the day!

109 - Movie Adaptation for Literature Class

I decided to show this 3 hour and 23 minute movie adaptation of Homer in little chunks over the last few weeks of our class instead of waiting until we were done with the reading and lecture. It is a solid adaptation (Unlike *Troy* for The Iliad). The acting is superb, but the kids say the special effects are pretty archaic! We finish up on May 3rd, two weeks ahead of schedule!

I just loved watching these two close together on my couch during Jesus Community. They are so beautiful inside and out!

Delightful weekend with these delightful people. My heart overflows in thanksgiving to God for the gift of friendship!

106 - The Message Through Scripture

I love the "scarlet thread of redemption" from Adam to Jesus! Learning more today!

105 - Garmin GPS Gadget

105 - Garmin GPS Gadget, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
If Lisa Cowden sees this she will say, "Oh there is Carol with another gadget." She calls me the "gadget girl." I wanted to have an easy way to track my runs and bikes mile and pace-wise. It also keeps track of my heart rate so I will slow down when my heart rate gets too high while running. I have to train in my zone if I am going to become a better runner.

104 - Back in the Pool

104 - Back in the Pool, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.

One of the delightful discoveries about triathlon training was how much I really enjoy swimming. I have it as part of my cross-training now, and I love it. It relaxes me and makes me sleep SOLIDLY! I took some time off after the triathlon because I had some shoulder pain, but I am all healed up and ready to do it two to three times a week. :)

103 - Meeting at Market of Choice

It has been a month. So, we spent four hours talking at the coffee shop above Market of Choice. Nice place. Teala goes there about four times a week with different college women.

I missed the award ceremony. So, George picked up my prize today. :)

101 - Tax Closure

101 - Tax Closure, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
I finished on Friday, but I didn't get around to mailing until today. I wasn't going to pay the 19.95 for eFiling when I could send it for 61 cents! Our refund was only $1 so I donated it to the Salvation Army to make it an even ZERO!

We spoke in the Parenting Teens Class at our old church today, and I got to see some of my favorite people. Here are two of them, and they are both named Lisa!

99 - Michael's Senior Pictures

Marci B did a photo shoot with Michael on the OSU campus. It was a beautiful spring day!

98 - Favorite Trees in the Neighborhood

It was so sunny! I had to get out in the morning to shoot these favorite trees of mine while they were still blooming. Back to taxes inside now! :(

97 - Day Three of Taxes

97 - Day Three of Taxes, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
It was a complicated year for our taxes! I am getting closer!

96 - The Slippery Slope

96 - The Slippery Slope, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
I took a break from taxes to meet with a friend. We talked about peacemaking, and I love this diagram to help explain the different responses we have to conflict.

95 - Paper Sorting Before Taxes

I was really behind in sorting, purging, and filing papers. Some of those papers were important for filling out our tax form!

94 - Heba and Elizabeth at Lunch

George has been helping Heba with statistics so she wanted to thank him by taking us out for lunch and invited Elizabeth along! She even made Basboosa for dessert. YUM!

93 - Waiting to Speak

93 - Waiting to Speak, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
Picture by Karen Tate - The expression on my face is pretty bizarre, but I love the expression on Cynthia's as she adjusts the height of my microphone. I spoke on Waiting at the Suburban Christian Church Women's Retreat at Wi-Ni-Ma. What a great group of women!

92 - Beaver Freezer 2011

92 - Beaver Freezer 2011, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
I did it! Placed first in my age division for the Mountain Bike Triathlon! I crossed the finish line and said, "I don't think I want to do that again," but now I am thinking maybe I will!!!

91 - Bathing Cap Beauty

91 - Bathing Cap Beauty, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
I haven't worn one of these since I was in elementary school, but I bought one for the triathlon TOMORROW! Don't I look crazed? One would have to be to do a triathlon.

90 - Celebrating Michelle

90 - Celebrating Michelle, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.
I know I already have a picture from my morning at Coffee Culture writing my talk on Waiting, but Michelle turned 28 today, and she invited her friends to "Pizza and Prayer." It was lovely. :)

90 - Waiting at Coffee Culture

Orange Cinnamon tea and Ginger Date Scone for inspiration as I wait for this talk to come together.

89 - Running Pointers

89 - Running Pointers, originally uploaded by carolfoasia.

I have gotten into reading books on running in hopes of improving my technique. I might be too late for the triathlon, but I want to make it a goal afterward to improve my 5K time!

88 - Last Outdoor Ride

It quit raining! I haven't had an outdoor bike ride in over two weeks.

I watched this on a quiet afternoon over the weekend and wanted to document it. It was very thought-provoking.
